Deniz Feneri emergency response team is still in the area to provide emergency relief to the victims of the ongoing Israeli military aggression.
The numbers of casualties increased, humanitarian situation is getting worse and humanitarian aid workers were hit by fire in Gaza.
The Palestinian death toll in Gaza is 778, including more than 200 children and more than 3,250 people have also been wounded since the Israeli offensive began on December 27.
Health services in Gaza are on the point of collapsing if steps to support and protect them are not taken immediately. Injured civilians by bombings in Gaza are stuck in their homes without food and water, unable to seek medical attention. 75 % of the Gazans has no running water. Much of the population of Gaza continues to live without electricity. Wheat grain is urgently needed for local bakeries and for humanitarian food distributions
Deniz Feneri launched an appeal and started its relief activities since Israeli attacks began.
- Until now food supply worth of 30.000 USD was distributed to Jabaliyah and Bayt Hanun in the first days of the bombardment.
- 30.000 USD in urgent and life saving medical aid were sourced and delivered to Ministry of Health.
- Also 350.000 USD in medical aid were delivered to Khan Yunus in line with other partners, Doctors Worldwide and Israa Association.
- Lastly, Deniz Feneri aid team is in the area busy with purchasing a dozen of fully equipped ambulances in cooperation with Doctors Worldwide and Israa Association. As ambulances in Gaza are not functional and need repairing, injured people are being carried by donkey drawn carts and trucks if can be found any.
The dire humanitarian situation was not improving. Aid agencies had made it clear that they could not act unless Israel provided them better security.
Deniz Feneri will continue its relief activities in Gaza against all odds.
